Summer Intern: Gaining real-world exposure
This past summer, Haley Vandyke joined Real Projectives® as our 2019 summer intern. A rising senior at Virginia Tech, she is majoring in real estate and sees herself having a career in real estate consulting or project management. During her internship, Haley gained exposure to a wide variety of areas having worked on the diligence and oversight of multiple real estate development projects. These opportunities included: visiting job sites for meetings, reviewing financials, and overseeing schedules and important milestones. She also handled many other day-to-day activities to ensure risk was being managed and that the needs of our clients were being achieved.
Expressing thanks for being treated not as an intern but as a valuable asset on the team, Haley stated, “I was able to play a part in all aspects and phases of development projects.”
Haley is returning to college to complete a bachelor’s degree. She’s excited to take the real-world skills acquired from this internship to enhance what she’ll learn in the classroom as well as put toward her capstone assignment. We want to thank her for many positive contributions over eight short weeks and wish her all the best!
