This week, our team came together with a shared mission: to pack 100 sandwich lunches for Fish of Laurel, a local charity dedicated to helping our community.
Fish of Laurel, Inc. is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that has been feeding food-insecure neighbors in the Greater Laurel area for nearly 50 years. They operate Elizabeth House, where volunteers prepare and serve hot meals 365 days a year and run a food pantry twice a week.
Our team was determined to make a difference, and we did so with remarkable efficiency. We set up an assembly line to streamline the process of making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and ham sandwiches. Each lunch bag included a granola bar, a bag of chips, and some fruit snacks, ensuring a balanced meal for those in need.
The energy in the room was palpable as everyone pitched in, from spreading peanut butter to packing the final lunch bags. Our assembly line method proved to be incredibly effective, allowing us to complete the task in record time. It was a heartwarming experience to see our team work together so seamlessly, united by a common goal.
By the end of the hour, we had packed 100 lunches, each one a small but significant step towards supporting our community. We are proud to contribute to the incredible work that Fish of Laurel does and look forward to more opportunities to give back.
