On the sunny afternoon of April 12, a groundbreaking ceremony for a new clubhouse at Bonita Terra occurred, leaving residents excited for the new feature in their manufactured housing community.
This clubhouse, which will be built by Heatherwood Construction Company, is going to be the finishing touch to what is called “amenity row.” The clubhouse will be a little over 12,000 square feet and is the third and largest clubhouse to be built for this community, according to Senior Project Manager Jerome Johnson.
The clubhouse will include a 3,600 square foot pool and spa, grand ballroom with a stage, outdoor bar, food service area with catering kitchen, and a storage building. This project required all new sitework, including the creation of a new parking pad and new stormwater system.
This project was long awaited, said Johnson, planning started shortly before the pandemic and met many setbacks as the pandemic progressed. Real Projectives’ role as owner’s representative and program manager meant that we were closely involved with planning and designing. There were multiple changes to the design and square footage throughout the process, but in the end, Johnson said they wanted to make sure everyone would be happy with it.
The construction is projected to be completed in the next 18 months, and then residents will be able to enjoy a new feature to their community.
