Real Projectives® Celebrates National Ferret Day
For the second consecutive year, employees of Real Projectives® (RPL) celebrated National Ferret Day as a special paid company holiday in recognition of our company mascot.
Ferrets, spirited and intelligent animals, became the official RPL mascot in 2021. Whenever a new employee joins our company, they receive a plush stuffed ferret in acknowledgement of our beloved animal representative.
In a belated celebration of the national holiday honoring ferrets, all employees were given a paid day off work (this year on the Friday of Passover and Good Friday) as a unique company benefit. While nobody was supposed to work that day, everyone was asked to take pictures of their ferrets to display how they spent their day off. We are excited to share some photos and stories highlighting the day!
Jerome Johnson, Project Manager II, related a story of how he spent Ferret Day. The company holiday also closely followed his birthday, for which he received a Lowes gift card, and he spent his day off creating a new garden in his backyard.
“I quickly found out that a $100 gift card would not take me as far as I thought it would,” Jerome commented, but “now I have a secret garden and a deeper understanding of plants that I never realized I needed!” Jerome took a snapshot of his ferret enjoying the new outdoor garden.
Jonathan Williams, owner and principal of RPL, took his youngest daughter, and ferret, on college campus visits around Maryland including John’s Hopkins University, Loyola University, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Some employees and their ferrets went outside from the beach to the farm to the city across several states including Florida, Virginia, Maryland, and New York.
Other ferrets stayed indoors spending time together with humans and other furry companions.
