2008-2018.  Real Projectives® celebrates 10 years!

Out of a love of buildings and the doldrums of the great recession, Real Projectives® proudly celebrates 10 years in business!

Since he was a child, Jonathan Williams has loved solving problems and creating things. Not surprisingly, that passion led him to designing and building custom homes in the early 1990s during breaks while earning a degree in Architectural Engineering from Penn State. Upon graduation, he started a career in real estate project management working for an office REIT. After more than a decade of managing construction projects and special initiatives for prominent Washington DC area companies and acting as a senior manager in an engineering firm, Jonathan launched his own company. Real Projectives was born 10 years ago – just two weeks before the economy fell into a deep recession in September 2008. While the timing was questionable and those first two years were very difficult, Jonathan pushed forward, confident that the venture would succeed.

Through the first five years, Jonathan was the primary provider and maintained headquarters out of his home’s basement office. He developed relationships and served projects where diverse expertise and a hard work ethic helped others solve problems and get things done. While operating the company leanly during tough times was often a struggle, Jonathan enjoyed the multitude of responsibilities that went along with running a business. During that period, he successfully managed a variety of tenant and capital renovations throughout the Metropolitan Washington DC region.

As the economy recovered, Real Projectives also began to mature. In 2013, the company hired its first employee. And as the firm’s reputation for superior skills and high-touch service grew, so did its workload. In 2014, a second employee was added, and the office moved out of Jonathan’s basement into an executive suite in Columbia, Maryland. By 2016, Real Projectives boasted four employees and began considering a more permanent and strategic office location. After many months of research, Laurel, Maryland was identified as a good place with solid economics, an important town feel, and a central location for employees to commute. The company purchased and renovated an office condominium along Laurel Lake and relocated the business at the end of February 2017.

Currently, Real Projectives® is a 12-person consulting firm tackling a range of renovation and development projects throughout the United States. The organization has certainly grown tall from the seeds planted a decade ago by its founder and remains driven by the fundamental principle of providing professional, valuable and trustworthy services that smartly leverage resources and manage risks so property owners and users can accomplish their needs with minimal surprises. Jonathan states: “I am so proud of my amazing team and very appreciative of the clientele who have challenged us to date. We are excited to strengthen and grow further into this next decade.”

If the past is any indication, Real Projectives is sure to continue its rise.
