On June 15, 2021, under sunny skies and nearly perfect temperatures, around 50 golfers gathered at the Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, MD for the Central Maryland Chamber of Commerce’s Central Maryland Classic Golf Tournament. After a two-year absence, due to COVID, the tournament returned with thrilled participants.
The morning started with a breakfast sponsored by Real Projectives® (RPL). The golfers enjoyed bagels, bagel sandwiches, pastries, coffee, and orange crushes. After partaking of breakfast, golfers competed in a putting competition before going out on the course with a shotgun start.
Among those from RPL participating were our Principal and Owner, Jonathan Williams; Senior Project Manager, Jay Hughitt; Project Coordinator, Alyssa Peters; and Marketing Consultant, Rob Bennett. This fabulous foursome took on the Hialeah Course.
The course featured plenty of woods, hills, and challenging water hazards. This made for a few lost balls along the way during the round. The resort refers to the course as a “shot maker’s course,” and fortunately our team made enough good shots to garner a final score just slightly over par.
Peters says of the day, “We were lucky to get the toughest holes out of the way early on. We even rocked it out with a few birdies! It was a great day for golf. Perfect weather and good company.”
Bennett added, “It was a beautiful day for golf and everyone enjoyed themselves. The course definitely challenged our golf skills but the decent shots balanced out the not so good ones. Really, the entire day showed what a stellar job the Central Maryland Chamber of Commerce did with the event.”
Hughitt’s thoughts on the day echoed his playing partners. “Wow, what a beautiful day and fantastic outing! The team at Central Maryland Chamber of Commerce really outdid themselves in setting up this tournament. Everyone had a great time and we were given lots of opportunities to increase Real Projectives’ brand recognition. It was a win-win for all involved and we look forward to participating in future Central Maryland Chamber of Commerce events.”
A buffet reception for the golfers followed the tournament. The reception included door prizes, good food, and beverages of choice.
We’re looking forward to more sunny days ahead.
