Celebrating Our Third National Ferret Day

Last Sunday was National Ferret Day, a holiday we proudly celebrate at Real Projectives!

In honor of our mascot Frankie the Ferret Project Manager, this month we’ll be posting various fun facts about the North American Black-footed ferret and the ways we celebrate Ferret Day.

The origins of our company holiday hark back to early 2021 during the COVID-19 Pandemic, when management asked what would be most helpful to keep employees happy and motivated during these difficult times. The RPL team pointed out that there was no standard work holiday between New Year’s Day and Memorial Day, and it would help to have a break.

Thus, the company decided to give all employees an extra paid day off from work and selected Friday, April 2, 2021 as that day – which happened to be National Ferret Day.

We embraced the fun of Ferret Day and gave every employee a stuffed toy ferret to take a picture with on their day off. To this day, every new employee receives a stuffed toy ferret on their first day welcoming them to our business!

We further embraced Ferret Day by enshrining the Ferret as our company mascot, and conducted a company vote on its name – Frankie.
