Summer Outing Turns Up the Heat

The trivia competition was as hot as the scorching, humid weather for the annual Real Projectives® staff picnic held in August at Granville Gude Park near our office in Laurel. Fortunately, we had plenty of cold drinks to keep the festivities going.

As our company continues to grow, we enjoyed meeting new people and spending time among our extended family. But, some things haven’t changed like eating fine barbecue and mouthwatering sweets.

This year, we added two new features to the outing: the awarding of certificates of appreciation and pins to employees who have been on staff for more than three years and a spirited company trivia contest with prizes.

We recognized James, Bryan and Jeff for three years of service, along with Anne who has the longest tenure approaching five years.

Gift cards for coffee were given away as door prizes. Then, restaurant gift cards were on the line for the trivia contest that asked questions about company history, like:

• When was the first picnic held? (2013)
• How many projects have we taken on since the company was founded? (297)
• True or false: Our staff has always had close to an equal balance of men and women. (True)

Full of satisfying conversation and good food, 17 people went home to air-conditioning along with happy memories of another Real Projectives® celebration.
